The Old Westbury softball team swept another Skyline Conference doubleheader with two wins against Yeshiva on Wednesday night. Junior pitcher Gianna DiLillo threw a perfect five-inning game in the first game of the evening, and Christina Hassett followed with a one-hitter in the second game. This is just the second perfect game in Old Westbury softball through online records dating back to the 2012 season. The last perfect game was on March 31, 2016 when Nicole DeCola pitched five innings in a 9-0 win against York College.
Game One: Old Westbury 16, Yeshiva 0
Old Westbury scored seven runs in the first, six runs in the second, and three runs in the third inning. Ten players totaled 13 hits for the Panthers; Intrieri (2), Martinez, Myles, Reilly, Danin (3), Felton, Harris, Bennett, Tucci, DiLillo. Gianna DiLillo totaled three RBI in addition to pitching a perfect game with eight strikeouts. Natalie Intrieri, Shannon Myles, and Madison Danin each knocked in two RBI.
Game Two: Old Westbury 9, Yeshiva 0
Christina Hassett earned the win in the circle in game two for Old Westbury. She allowed one hit through five innings and struck out 11 batters. The Panthers rallied for nine hits in game two; Dillon (2), Cuttone (3), Harris, Albright, Cruceta, Felton. Rosanna Cuttone led the offense with three RBI, and Najeri Felton added two.
