The Old Westbury women's basketball team defeated Lehman by a score of 53-49 in a non-conference contest on Monday evening.
How it HappenedÂ
- Old Westbury shot 36.7% (18-49) from the field, while Lehman shot 26% (20-77). The Panthers held the 62-41 advantage over the Lightning in rebounds.
- Old Westbury went on a 9-0 scoring run early in the first quarter, including three-pointers from Myles and Rowe to take the 11-3 lead over Lehman. The Panthers held the lead through the half and led 27-15 going into the break.
- Lehman outscored Old Westbury in the third quarter to close the gap to just two points, 34-32 going into the final quarter. Lehman tied the game with 8:28 remaining and took a four point lead through the next minute of play.
- Five made free-throws in the last minute of the game helped secure the win for Old Westbury.

- Ja'nya Flash led the team with a double-double of 12 points and 16 rebounds, along with two blocks.
- Shannon Myles scored 10 points with seven rebounds and four assists.
- Allysha Thomas narrowly missed a double-double with nine points and 11 rebounds.
- Melinda Harris scored eight points with 12 rebounds.
