Panthers Chase History in Win Over York

Almonte, Then lead offensive explosion

Old Westbury, New York…September 14, 2023… The Panther Women's Soccer team made a run at team history during its victory over the CUNY York College Cardinals today at Panther Park.

The 13-0 non-conference win saw the second-most goals scored in a single game by the team since its inaugural season in 2008. The record of 14 goals in a single game was achieved twice by the 2015 Panthers, in victories over St. Joseph's College-Brooklyn and York.

With this latest win, the Panthers improved their record to 3-2 on the season.

Fifth-year player
Mia Almonte led the way, scoring four goals and providing three assists.

The scoring started in the fifth minute when freshman
Alyse Then scored the first of her three goals on the day, adding to her team-leading season total (12).

The scoring was rounded out with Jessica Pedroza, Adelia Slavinskaya, Jasmine Roldan, Mikayla Crosier, Jennifer Pasquariello, and Natalie Intrieri each scoring a goal.  For senior Crosier, senior Intrieri, sophomore Slavinskaya and freshman Roldan, the goals were the first of their collegiate careers.
