Women's Basketball Taken Down by Montclair State on Wednesday

MONTCLAIR, N.J. – The SUNY Old Westbury women's basketball team was taken down by the Red Hawks of Montclair State University on Wednesday night by a final score of 84-27.
 
The Panthers now fall to 0-2 on the young 2024-25 season.
 
The Panthers struggled offensively throughout the night. As a team, the Panthers shot the ball 20 percent from the floor, 12 percent from three-point range and 63 percent from the free-throw line. OW did manage to cause 20 turnovers.
 
The team's leading scorer was Jailah Pineda who finished the game with 12 points, four rebounds, one assist, and two steals. Another strong performance came from Rianelly Estrella who led the team in rebounding as she pulled down six boards and also had three points.

Maya Kama finished the game with six points, two rebounds, one block and three steals. Malaura Olivier finished the night with four points, five rebounds, and a steal.
 
Next up, the Panthers will face off against Cedar Crest College in their first home game of the season on Saturday, November 16. The game will take place in the Clark Center Gymnasium and is set to begin at 12 PM.
