Women's Lacrosse Defeated by Farmingdale on Wednesday Night

FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – The SUNY Old Westbury women's lacrosse team battled hard but was defeated last night by the Rams of Farmingdale State College. The final score was 18-5 in favor of the Rams. 
 
The Panthers cashed in on the game's first goal. The man-up goal came from Sarah Boubert just about five minutes into the game. 
 
OW held on to their 1-0 lead for a couple minutes, but FSC responded with four goals in the last five minutes of the first quarter. As the opening period came to a close, the Rams led., 4-1. 
 
Once again, the Panthers kicked off the scoring, this time in the second quarter. The goal came from Boubert who connected on her second of the night. '
 
The Rams responses with a few more goals themselves, but Geanelle Sam broke the run with a man-up goal of her own for the Panthers. At this point, the score was 7-3 in favor of Farmingdale. 
 
Going into halftime, the Rams led by a score of 11-3. 
 
In the third quarter, the Panthers were only able to connect on one goal. The long goal came from Natalie Garcia who scored the man-up goal.
 
The Rams continued to add on more goals throughout the remainder of the third quarter and fourth quarter. 
 
The final Panthers goal of the night came from Boubert who scored her third goal on the night. 
 
The Rams managed to walk away with the win by a final score of 18-5. 
 
Sarah Boubert led the way in the scoring column with a total of three goals on four shots on goal. Natalie Garcia and Geanelle Sam were the only other Panthers to record points as they each had a goal of their own. Isabella Recine and Ashley Maniscalco each picked up four ground balls in the game. 
 
In net, Kathleen Mackey finished the night with 13 saves. Farmingdale took a total a total of 31 shots on goal. 
 
Next up, the Panthers will face off against Manhattanville on Saturday, April 13. Following that game, the Panthers will take on Cedar Crest for a non-conference matchup at Panther Park on Thursday, April 18 at 4 PM. Prior to that game, the Panthers will honor their senior student-athletes.
