Women's Lacrosse Falls to Manhattanville on Monday Afternoon

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. – The SUNY Old Westbury women's lacrosse team fell to the Manhattanville University Valiants by a final score of 13-2. 
 
The Panthers now sit at 1-7 on the year and have a conference record of 0-5.
 
The first quarter was a tight affair as the score was tied 1-1. Manhattanville opened up the scoring just 30 seconds into the game, but the Panthers would respond as Joann Williams scored her first of two goals just 45 seconds later. Williams' goal was assisted by Sarah Boubert
 
The Valiants would have a big second quarter, scoring six unanswered goal. The score heading into halftime was 7-1.
 
The start of the second half featured two Manhattanville goals followed by Joann Williams's second goal of the game for Old Westbury. 
 
The Valiants would finish out the game scoring four more goals in the fourth quarter The Vailants took the win with a final score of 13-2.
 
Joann Williams had an efficient game for the Panthers scoring two goals on three shots. Isabella Recine was heavily involved in the action taking 3 shots and securing a team high five ground balls.
 
Up next, Old Westbury returns to Panther Park for an non-conference matchup against Cedar Crest College. Last season's matchup was a close game as Cedar Crest won in double overtime 8-7. The game will take place on Thursday April, 18 and is slated to start at 4 PM. Prior to the game, the Panthers will honor their senior student-athletes.
