Men's Vollyeball Falls to UMSV on Senior Night

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. – The SUNY Old Westbury men's volleyball team played their final home match of the season as the team was defeated by the University of Mount Saint Vincent, 3-0 on Tuesday night. 
 
Prior to the match, the Panthers honored their three senior student-athletes, Thomas Albrecht, James Seraphin, and Anthony Moyett.  
 
The Panthers struggled to match the intensity of the Dolphins attack throughout the night. The first set got going in favor of the Dolphins. The Panthers were only able to put up five kills as a team compared to the Dolphins' 16 kills. 
 
The Dolphins managed to walk away with the first set victory relatively easily by a final score of 25-15. 
 
In the match's second set, the Panthers put up a strong fight but could not overtake the Dolphins. The Panthers allowed the Dolphins to record their most kills of the night with 19. The Dolphins secured the victory, 25-17. 
 
In what would be the match's final set, the Panthers put up their best fight. OW held the lead with the score at 20-19 but fell apart in the final stages of the set. The Dolphins defeated the Panthers 25-21 and took the match, 3-0. 
 
Anthony Moyett led the team in kills once again with nine. Moyett also had a block two assists and five digs. Ashel Santos had two kills. At the net, Kosta Anagnostou and Val Holmes each finished with a block. 
 
Next up, the Panthers will close the season on the road as they travel to take on St. Joseph's University0Long Island on Thursday night at 7 PM. Following that, the Panthers will wrap things up at a tri-match hosted by Sarah Lawrence College on Saturday, April 6. The first match for the Panthers will begin at 11 AM.
