Women's Lacrosse Taken Down By Mount Saint Mary in Final Home Game This Season

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. – The SUNY Old Westbury women's lacrosse team was defeated by the Knights of the College of Mount Saint Mary on Wednesday by a final score of 18-4. 
 
The Panthers fall to an overall record of 1-10 on the year and have a conference record of 0-7. 
 
Despite the offensive struggle throughout the afternoon, the Panthers managed to score four goals throughout the contest. Sarah Boubert and Geanelle Sam each scored two goals a piece. 
 
Sam's first goal was the game's first by either team. After going up 1-0, the Panthers would let up the next seven goals to the Knights. 
 
Sitting down 7-1, Sam connected on her second goal of the day thanks to a nice assist from Joann Williams. 
 
Just about midway through the second period, Sarah Boubert scored an unassisted goal to help the Panthers chip away at the Knight's lead. 
 
Old Westbury went into halftime trailing,12-3. 
 
The only other scoring of the game from OW would be from Boubert who scored another unassisted goal in the fourth quarter. 
 
In the end, the Panthers were unsuccessful against the Knights and were defeated, 18-4. 
 
Sarah Boubert had another strong game, recording two goals, three ground balls and three draw controls. Isabella Recine had a nice performance, picking up five ground balls. Joann Williams had an assist, one ground ball and one draw control. 
 
In net, Katherine Campbell made her first start. She finished the game with four saves. 
 
Next up, the Panthers will close out their season in Purchase, N.Y. where the team will face off against Purchase College. The game will take place on Friday, April 26 at 7 PM.
