Women's Soccer Falls to Mount Saint Mary on Saturday

NEWBURGH, N.Y. – The SUNY Old Westbury women's soccer team fell short to the Knights of Mount Saint Mary on Saturday afternoon by a final score of 6-1. 
 
With this loss, the Panthers fall to 4-5-1 on the season and 2-2-0 in conference play. 
 
The Panthers lone goal of the afternoon came thanks to Jocelyn Perez who scored with just under five minutes remaining in the first half. 
 
Throughout the entire first half, Old Westbury was only able to take one shot. 
 
The Panthers went into halftime trailing, 3-1. 
 
In the second half, the Panthers struggles continued as the team could only put up three shots. Throughout the match there were only three on-target shots for OW. 
 
The Knights would score three more goals in the second half. Mount Saint Mary defeated Old Westbury by a final score of 6-1. 
 
When comparing opportunities, the Panthers took four shots throughout the game with only three on target while the Knights took 37 shots with 20 on target. 

Defender Jasmine Roldan took two shots which were both on goal. Jocelyn Perez scored the Panthers' lone goal. 
 
In net, Kristen Gallagher faced a total of 20 shots on goal and finished the game with 14 saves. 
 
Next up, Old Westbury will hit the road for a non-conference game against Brooklyn College. That match is scheduled for Monday, September 30 at 4 PM. Following that, the team will remain on the road to face off against Centenary on Wednesday, October 2.
