Women’s Soccer Finishes In a 2-2 Tie Against Brooklyn on Monday

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The SUNY Old Westbury women's soccer team finished in a tie against the Bulldogs of Brooklyn College on Monday. The final score was 2-2.
 
With this game in the books, the Panthers move to 4-5-2 on the season with a 2-2 conference record.
 
The Panthers struck first on the scoreboard just under 25 minutes into the game. The first score came thanks to a successful penalty kick by Jocelyn Forseth.
 
With a 1-0 lead over the Bulldogs, the Panthers added another goal thanks to Forseth who scored her second goal of the afternoon. Forseth's goal came thanks to a nice pass by Jennifer Pasquariello.

The Panthers went into halftime with a 2-0 lead over the Bulldogs.
 
In the second half, the Panthers struggled to keep the Bulldogs off the offensive side of the field.
 
The Bulldogs struck just under the 60-minute mark thanks to Chelsea Gonzalez.
 
The Panthers offense was slowed in the second half as they only took five shots compared to eight in the first half.
Brooklyn would score once again to equal the score as Gianna DiPronio scored to make the score 2-2.
 
Neither side would score and the game would close in a 2-2 tie.
 
Jocelyn Forseth dominated the day for the Panthers. Forseth finished the game with six total shots with four on goal, scoring two goals.

Jocelyn Perez also took two shots on goal. Defender Jennifer Pasquariello finished with an assist and several key defensive plays.

In net, Kristen Gallagher finished with just one save after facing only three shots on goal.

Next up, the Panthers will travel to Hackettstown, N.J. for another non-conference game against Centenary on Wednesday, October 2 at 3 PM. Following that, the team will remain on the road for a conference battle against the Bears of St. Joseph's-Brooklyn on Saturday, October 5.
