Men’s Soccer Falls to Mount Saint Vincent in Final Moments on Saturday

RIVERDALE, N.Y. -  The SUNY Old Westbury mem's soccer team was defeated by the Dolphins of the University of Mount Saint Vincent on Saturday. The Dolphins took the match, 3-1.
 
The Panthers fall to 5-8 on the season and drop to 3-5 in Skyline Conference play.
 
It was a defensive match for a majority of the first half.
 
The first goal of the game came just under 40 minutes into the match as the Dolphins found the back of the net.
 
The Dolphins carried their 1-0 lead into halftime.
 
Coming out of the break, the Panthers found the back of the net to tie the game. The Panthers scored thanks to a nice shot from Henrik Ropstad who was assisted by Jeffrey Baires.
 
The Panthers and Dolphins would remain tied just some time until UMSV found the back of the net at the 82:29-minute mark.
 
UMSV added another goal just about a minute later to take a 3-1 lead.
 
The Panthers were unable to score again and the Dolphins took the match, 3-1.
 
Henrik Ropstad led the Panthers as he finished with a goal, and three total shots on goal. Jeffrey Baires recorded an assist and a shot on goal. Johan Gran would take two total shots with one on-goal.
 
In net, Vedant Sortur finished with seven saves. He allowed three goals and saw a total of 11 shots on-goal and 22 total shots.
 
Next up, the Panthers return home for a conference match against Sarah Lawrence. The Panthers and Gryphons will face off from Panther Park on Wednesday, October 22 at 3:30 PM.
