Sophomore
Joel Ofori led the SUNY Old Westbury men's basketball team with 27 points and 10 rebounds in an 85-65 loss to Clark University in the consolation game of the Rick Martin/Hampton Inn Classic from Westfield, Massachusetts.
The Panthers were unable to overcome the strong first half shooting of Cougars, who went 8-of-19 from long distance and 15-of-30 from the field to lead 45-25 after the first half of play.
Old Westbury would out shoot Clark in the second half, going 15-of-28 from the field with 19 second half points from Ofori and 12 from senior
Bradley Young. The Panthers would come within 14 in the final 85 seconds of the contest, but were not able to overcome the early deficit.
Bradley would join Ofori in double digits, totaling 17 points on the afternoon while added four rebounds and led with four steals. Freshman
Jermaine King Jr. led the Panthers with five assists while freshman
Imole Akinwale and sophomore
Yigit Balta both had three.
The Panthes will open the home portion of the schedule on Tuesday against John Jay at 6:00 p.m. from the Clark Athletic Center.
