The SUNY Old Westbury Panthers were defeated by USMMA this evening, 79-37, from the Clark Center on the campus of Old Westbury.
The Mariners opened the first quarter shooting 50 percent from the floor, including going 4-of-7 from long distance to lead 26-9 after 10 minutes of play. Seven of Old Westbury's nine points would come from Kasey Koppola, who had a three-pointer and two jump shots. The deficit remained at double digits through the end of the first half with the visiting USMMA leading by 20 at the break, 37-17.
Brianna Belizaire led the Panthers with eight points on the second half, shooting 3-of-6 from the field to go with two foul shots, but the Panthers were unable to find a way to stop the Mariners.
Old Westbury is back in action on Saturday, November 22 at Purchase College at 12:00 p.m.
