Men's Volleyball Sweeps Yeshiva in Three Straight Sets on Sunday

aNEW YORK, N.Y. – The SUNY Old Westbury men's volleyball team secured a dominant victor over Yeshiva University in three straight sets on Sunday afternoon at the Max Stern Athletic Center. 

With this victory, Old Westbury improves to 2-5 overall on the season and 1-1 in Skyline Conference play. 

Old Westbury set the tone early, sweeping Yeshiva in three straight sets (25-10, 25-15, 25-11) to secure their second win of the season.

From the opening serve, Old Westbury controlled the pace, hitting an impressive .526 in the first set while limiting Yeshiva to a .000 attack percentage. Liam Eisel led the Panthers with 8 kills, hitting .368, while Damian Villamil contributed 5 kills and a match-high 11 service aces. Setter Ashel Santos dished out 15 assists, leading an efficient offensive effort.

Defensively, Old Westbury out-dug Yeshiva 42-37, with libero Jose Lorenzo Santos tallying 7 digs. The Panthers also held a strong presence at the net, holding four team blocks.

The win marks Old Westbury's first conference victory of the season, while Yeshiva continues to seek its first Skyline win. The Panthers will look to build on this momentum as they take on Fisher College at the Clark Athletic Center on Wednesday, February 26 at 6 PM.
