Women's Lacrosse Falls to Centenary to Open the 2025 Campaign on Wednesday

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ - The SUNY Old Westbury women's lacrosse team fell to the Centenary University Cyclones by a score of 21-0 on Wednesday.

The Cyclones got a strong start in the first period, scoring nine goals. They would add four more in the second period to extend their halftime lead to 13-0.

Centenary continued their momentum into the second half, scoring three in the third period, and five more in the final period, winning 21-0.

Old Westbury saw a nice attacking performance from Katia Maisonneuve who had three shots on goal and grabbed two ground balls. Jara Gonzalez was strong in front of goal as she saved 12 shots.

Up next for Old Westbury is a road matchup at Cedar Crest College. The two schools faced off last season in Old Westbury as Cedar Crest won that matchup by a score of 10-9. Katherine Campbell scored in one of the Panther's nine goals last year. That game is set for Saturday March 22, at 1 PM.
