Softball Dominates York on Wednesday; Christina Ravo Tosses Five Inning No-Hitter in Game Two

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. – The SUNY Old Westbury softball team was dominant on Wednesday against the Cardinals of York College. The Panthers were victorious in both sides of the non-conference doubleheader, 15-0 and 16-0, respectively. 
 
The Panthers improve to 7-9 overall on the 2025 campaign. 
 
Game One- SUNY Old Westbury (15) – York (0) [Five Innings]
 
The Panthers got the scoring going right away as they walked in a run and scored on a hit batter. Faith Binaso then hit an RBI single to draw in another run. 
 
Following another walked in run, Hillary Bennett would hit a sacrifice fly to score Kaylin McDonald. The final runs of the inning were scored as Phylicia Cangemi reached on an error. 
 
Old Westbury finished the first frame with six runs.
 
The Panthers tacked on another run in the second inning courtesy of the second inning thanks to another RBI single from Binaso. 
 
Four more runs came for the Panthers in the bottom of the third inning as Cangemi reached on another error to score a run. Morgan Albright had an RBI single to the pitcher that allowed Juliana Vasquez to score. McDonald would then draw a walk to make it an 11-0 game. 


The Panthers would add four more runs in the fourth inning with McDonald recording a two RBI single to center field. 
 
Old Westbury walked away with the victory, 15-0 in five innings over the Cardinals. 
 
Faith Binaso impressed as she went 3-4 from the dish with two RBIs and a run. Kaylin McDonld recorded four RBIs on one hit and two walks. Morgan Albright and Phylicia Cangemi would each finish with two RBIs and a walk. Albright also had a single. Juliana Vasquez finished a perfect 2-2 at the plate with two runs and a walk. Ashleigh Stewart and Hillary Bennett each recorded a hit, run and RBI. 
 
Taylor Murphy threw the entire game where she allowed just one hit. Murphy struck out six batters and walked just one. 
 
Game Two- SUNY Old Westbury (16) – York (0) [Five Innings]
 
Madison Danin got the scoring going for the Panthers in the first inning as she recorded an RBI single. Ashley Pierce then immediately had an RBI single to center field for an RBI. 
 
With a 2-0 lead, the Panthers shut down the Cardinals in the bottom of the first inning. 
 
The Panthers put up seven total runs in the bottom of the second inning. Hits came from Ashley Pierce, Amanda Varela, and Olivia Toto all for RBIs to five the Panthers a 9-0 lead.
 
Old Westbury had another big inning in the bottom of the third as the team tacked on another four runs. Ashleigh Stewart, Taylor Murphy and Toto combined for three hits to help the Panthers take a 13-0 lead. 
 
In the bottom of the fourth, Murphy would single again as well as Gaspa for RBIs to take a 16-0 lead. 
 
The Panthers would take the game in five innings, 16-0. 
 
Madison Danin went 2-3 from the plate with two RBIs and a run. Ashley Pierce and Taylor Murphy each went 2-2 at the dish with two RBIs. Olivia Toto and Jenna Gaspa each finished the game with two hits. Alaina Reilly, Stella Apuzzi, Ashleigh Stewart, Amanda Varela, Gianna Pulsonetti, Hillary Bennett and Faith Binaso each recorded a hit. 
 
In the circle, Christina Ravo was dominant. Ravo tossed a no-hitter against the Cardinals, the first of her career. Ravo would strikeout seven batters. 
 
Next up, the Panthers will return to action this afternoon, April 10 for a non-conference doubleheader against the Hawks of SUNY New Paltz. The first game is scheduled for 4 PM from the Jackie Robinson Athletic Complex.
