Men’s Volleyball Concludes the 2025 Season with Senior Night on Wednesday

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. – The SUNY Old Westbury men's volleyball team was defeated by the Golden Eagles of St. Joseph's-Long Island on Wednesday night, 3-0. 
 
Prior to the match, the Panthers celebrated two of their graduating student-athletes, Thomas Albrecht and Jose Lorenzo Santos. 

The first set was uneven as the Golden Eagles record 17 kills compared to the Panthers' nine. SJLI would find an early lead and carried it through the end of the set where they would win, 25-11. 
 
In the second set, the Panthers would score only seen points and recorded just three kills. The Panthers were unable to match the intensity of the Golden Eagles attack as they had another 17 kills. The Golden Eagles would take the second set by a score of 25-7. 
 
The third set was the closest of the night with a final score of 25-22 in favor of the Golden Eagles. The Panthers put up 12 kills with 34 total attacks, but the Golden Eagles would respond with 16 kills.
 
St. Joseph's-Long Island would sweep the match by a final score of 3-0. 
 
For the Panthers, Torrence Fredericks impressed with seven kills, and a block. Liam Eisel recorded seven kills, one assist, and seven digs. Damian Villamil finished the match will four kills, and three digs. Jose Lorenzo Santos finished the match with 14 digs. 
 
Old Westbury concludes the 2025 campaign with an overall record of 6-18. The Panthers went 4-14 in Skyline Conference play.
