Women’s Soccer Shuts Out CCNY on Saturday Afternoon

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. -  The SUNY Old Westbury women's soccer team took down the Beavers of CCNY on Saturday. The final score was 1-0 in favor of Old Westbury. 
 
The Panthers now sit at 3-1 overall on the season and 1-0 in conference play. 
 
Old Westbury played well throughout the match as they kept the ball in the offensive zone for a bulk of the first half. 
 
Despite several opportunities, neither side would score in the first half. 
 
The Panthers would score the game's lone goal at the 78:38-minute mark.  Stefany Donnelly found the back of the net thanks to a nice assist from Briana Sayoc
 
Old Westbury would hold on to win, 1-0 and take down the Beavers. 
 
For the Panthers, Stefany Donnelly led the way with the team's lone goal. Briana Sayoc finished with an assist and two shot attempts. Taryn Hilke took three shots on-goal. 
 
In net, Kristen Gallagher finished with five saves after facing five shots on goal and 10 total shots. 
 
Next up, the Panthers will remain at home for another non-conference match up. The Panthers will host Lehman College on Tuesday, September 16 at 3:30 PM.
