Men’s Soccer Drops Non-Conference Match to Bard on Wednesday

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. -  The SUNY Old Westbury men's soccer team dropped their non-conference match against the Raptors of Bard College on Wednesday. The final score was 4-1 in favor of the Raptors. 
 
The Panthers now fall to 3-3 on the season and sit at 1-0 in Skyline Conference play. 
 
The Raptors struck first just over the 16-minute mark to take an early 1-0 lead. 
 
Bard held its lead through the remainder of the first half. 
 
Coming out of the break, the Raptors scored just six minutes into the second half to make it a 2-0 game. 
 
Old Westbury's lone goal came at the 58:08-minute mark. Isaiah Cardenas found the back of the net thanks to an assist from Isaac Cardenas. 
 
With the score now 2-1, Bard would score two more goals through the rest of the second half. 
 
The Panthers were unable to come back and would fall to the Raptors, 4-1. 
 
Isaiah Cardenas led the way with one goal in just 65 minutes. Isaac Cardenas recorded an assist and a shot on goal. Larstan LaRoche finished with two shots on goal. 
 
In goal, Paul DeGennaro recorded seven saves and allowed the four Bard goals. 
 
Next up, the Panthers return to conference play as they get set to host the Knights of Mount Saint Mary College on Saturday, September 20. That game is scheduled for 2:30 PM from Panther Park.
