Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

Women’s Volleyball Defeated by Brooklyn on Thursday Night

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. -  The SUNY Old Westbury women's volleyball team was defeated by the Bulldogs of Brooklyn College on Thursday night. The Bulldogs won the match, 3-0. 
 
The Panthers now sit at 1-1 on the season and hold a Skyline Conference record of 1-0. 
 
Old Westbury came in ready to battle but ultimately fell in straight sets to Brooklyn, 20-25, 22-25, 8-25. 
 
The first two sets were competitive, but Brooklyn pulled away in crucial moments, especially in the third set where the Panthers struggled to maintain momentum and execution.
 
For the Panthers, Stephanie Maser led the charge with eight kills and 11 digs. Stephanie Velez added six kills and nine digs, and was sharp on serve with four aces on the night. As a team, the Panthers recorded 38 digs, showing consistent effort in rallies and a willingness to extend points.
 
Next up, the Panthers will return to action on Saturday, September 20. The Panthers will compete in a tri-match against John Jay and Ramapo hosted by John Jay.
