The SUNY Old Westbury women's basketball team fell to the Golden Eagles of St. Joseph's University Long Island, 70-32. The loss sets the Panthers at 2-10 on the season and 1-9 in Skyline competition while SJLI improves to 9-7 (5-6 Skyline).
Endya Greene led the charge with 16 points and three steals while adding six rebounds and two assists.
Korrina Plair pulled down 11 boards while
Sakhmet Lewis had eight. Lewis, Plair, and
Sonasia Walker each nabbed two steals.Â
The Golden Eagles led from open to close, scoring nearly 20 points in each of the four quarters. Old Westbury would score a game-high four field goals in the first quarter that saw a three-pointer and layup from
Kayla Chappelle and two field goals from Greene, helping the Panthers to just an eight-point deficit, 20-12, after 10 minutes. The home team would train by double digits the remainder of the contest.Â
The team is back in action on Wednesday at United States Merchant Marine Academy at 7:00 PM.Â
