Old Westbury N.Y.-  SUNY Old Westbury Athletics and Recreation will host its inaugural SUNY Old Westbury 5K Run/Walk and 100-Meter Dash on Saturday, September 26, 2026, as part of the College's fall 2026 homecoming celebration week.

The 5K Run/Walk will begin at 8:30 a.m., followed by the 100-Meter Dash at 9:30 a.m. Both events will take place on the SUNY Old Westbury campus, beginning near the Student Union/Campus Center.

The 5K will feature a scenic course through the College's 603-acre campus, with participants passing tree-lined roads, horse stables, athletic facilities and the campus center. All 5K participants will receive a T-shirt, while the Panther Pavilion finish line will feature tables from SUNY Old Westbury clubs and departments, local businesses and organizations, a DJ, mini horses and a prime viewing area for the 100-Meter Dash.

Registration for the 5K is $10 for SUNY Old Westbury students and $25 for faculty and staff. The 100-Meter Dash is $10 for all participants. Registration prices will increase after September 5 and again on race day, so participants are encouraged to register early.

Proceeds from the event will support the SUNY Old Westbury Athletics and Recreation Department, with a portion also benefiting nonprofit partner HorseAbility.
