Jamie San Filippo enters his fifth season as the head coach of the SUNY Old Westbury men's soccer team. San Filippo arrived on campus in Summer of 2011 in pursuit of advancing in a coaching career that had already included successes on the youth and high school levels.

Under the guidance of San Filippo, seven student-athletes have earned All-Skyline Conference honors. In 2013, San Filippo earned his first all-region selection when Adan Cruz-Velasquez was placed on the ECAC All-Metro Team.  

In 2011, San Filippo guided his squad to their sixth straight Skyline Conference Championship Tournament appearance.  Old Westbury’s defense led the Skyline with five conference shutouts while achieving three All-Skyline Conference selections in addition to Conference Rookie of the Year honors. San Filippo tookover a program in 2011 that appeared in three of the last four Skyline Conference Championship games.

During the 2011-12 academic year, his program was honored with their second-ever SUNY Chancellor’s Scholar-Athlete Award, one of the most selective and prestigious awards bestowed by SUNY.  The award recognizes a combination of academic excellence and outstanding athletic achievement to an individual student-athlete.

Over the past four years, 32 of San Filippo's student-athletes earned a spot on the Skyline Conference Academic Honor Roll by achieveing a 3.30 semester grade point average or higher during their traditional playing season.   

San Filippo arrived at Old Westbury after spending the past eight years coaching soccer at MacArthur High School. San Filippo served as JV head coach from 2003-10 while also holding the position of varsity assistant coach from 2008-10.  San Filippo has been very successful on the club level. He coached the Garden City Park Soccer Club (boys ages 15-19) from 2006-2010 where he registered a record of 45-16-9. In 2010, he guided the team to a State Cup Semifinals appearance and division champions in 2007 and 2008. In 2010, the team ranked 107th on the national level, 24th in region and 6th in New York. From 2002-2007, he coached boys ages 15-17 for the East Meadow Soccer Club. During his time with East Meadow, the team was Division 1 Champions from 2005-2007, State Cup Quarter-Finalist (2003), Semi-Finalist (2004, 2007), Long Island Cup Finalist (2003) and Sportsmanship Award winners in 2002.

San Filippo, a native of Levittown, New York, was a four-year member of the Division Avenue High School varsity soccer team before taking his talents to Long Island University-Post. He played two seasons for the Pioneers before suffering a career ending knee injury as a sophomore. While at LIU-Post, he studied under coaching star Paul Reilly.  San Filippo graduated from LIU-Post in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education for Elementary and Secondary Education with a Minor in Coaching followed by his Masters in Health Education from Adelphi University in 2003.

From 1993-2007, he was a statistician for the Long Island Rough Riders.

Jamie is a Physical Education teacher in the Levittown Public School District and lives with his wife, Kristen, in Massapequa Park, New York.
