OLD WESTBURY, N.Y.-The SUNY College at Old Westbury softball team split a doubleheader with Skyline Conference rival, St. Joseph's College-L.I. on Sunday at the Jackie Robinson Athletic Complex-Softball Field.  The Panthers fell 9-4 in game one before earning a 10-2 victory in five innings against the Golden Eagles in game two.  Old Westbury stands at 9-5 on the season and 5-1 in conference action while St. Joseph's-L.I. moves to 4-12 and 1-3.

Panthers at the plate (Game 1): Junior Jessica Stoddard (Montgomery, N.Y.) sparked the team offensively, going 2-for-3 with a pair of singles, two runs scored and a walk.  Sophomore Angela Adamkiewicz (Commack, N.Y.) went 2-for-4 and stroked two singles to drive in two runs.  Freshman Serina Booth (Hampton Bays, N.Y.) registered two walks and two scores. 

Golden Eagles at the plate (Game 1): Amanda Macaluso spurred the offense with a 3-for-3 performance at the plate to drive in three runs.  Erica Stark hit 3-for-4 with a double and three runs scored.  Rosemary Flores (2-for-4, R), Alyssa Sieber (2-for-4, R) and Caitlin Forbes (2-for-3, RBI) each collected two hits while Courtney Frisina (1-for-2) scored two runs.   

Panthers in the circle (Game 1): Old Westbury sophomore hurler Deborah Ciccarelli (St. James, N.Y.) suffered the loss.  Ciccarelli allowed nine runs (7 earned) on 14 hits and struck out three to drop her record to 6-5 on the season. 

Golden Eagles in the circle (Game 1): Julie Cincotta picked up the victory for St. Joseph's-L.I. with a solid effort in the circle.  Cincotta went the distance and allowed four runs (3 earned) on five hits with five strikeouts for the victory. 

Game Notes (Game 1): St. Joseph's-L.I. outhit Old Westbury, 14-5, including 7-1 in extra base hits.  On the base path, Old Westbury stranded five Panthers on base and stole two bases while St. Joseph's-L.I. left three runners on.  Defensively, Old Westbury had three miscues compared to St. Joseph's-L.I., which had two.  In the circle, Old Westbury had three strikeouts and one walk while St. Joseph's-L.I. struck out five and walked three. 

 Panthers at the plate (Game 2): Angela Adamkiewicz plated home three runs in going 2-for-3 with two doubles and two runs scored to pace the offense.  Junior Sherrida Maxwell (Rosedale, N.Y.) and freshman Serina Booth (Hampton Bays, N.Y.) had 2-for-3 performances at the plate.  Maxwell scored two runs while Booth scored one and drove one in.  Sophomore Ashley Esposito (Nesconset, N.Y.) went 2-for-2 at the plate with two RBI and two runs score.  Freshman Samantha Siegler (Bellmore, N.Y.) doubled to right center in the fourth inning to score classmate Ashley Bozzo (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) and Adamkiewicz, part of a six run fourth inning for Old Westbury. 

Golden Eagles at the plate (Game 2): Erica Stark (2-for-2) led the offensive charge for the Golden Eagles with a pair of singles.  Caitlin Forbes (1-for-3) and Natalie Czelowalknik (0-for-2) each scored a run.   

Panthers in the circle (Game 2): Angela Adamkiewicz earned the victory in the circle for Old Westbury, scattering five hits and striking out six in a complete game effort.  Adamkiewicz (3-0) allowed two runs (1 earned) and just two walks for her third victory of the season.   

Golden Eagles in the circle (Game 2): Julie Cincotta was charged with the loss after giving up 10 runs (8 earned) on 11 hits.  Cincotta had one strikeout and a walk before Brianna Meyer recorded the final out in the fourth inning. 

Game Notes (Game 2): Old Westbury dominated St. Joseph's-L.I. in the hitting department, 11-5, including 3-1 in extra base hits.  On the base path, Old Westbury had six Panthers left on base and stole three bases compared to the Golden Eagles, which stranded six and recorded one steal.  On the defensive front, both teams committed three errors.  In the circle, Old Westbury tallied six strikeouts and two walks while St. Joseph's-L.I. had one strikeout and one walk.
