PATCHOGUE, NY (www.oldwestburypanthers.com) – The SUNY College at Old Westbury women's basketball team and the St. Joseph's (L.I.) Golden Eagles needed overtime to settle their contest but St. Joseph's (L.I.) jumped out to an early lead in the extra session and held on to defeat Old Westbury, 68-61, Tuesday evening at the Danzi Center in Patchogue. The road loss moved Old Westbury to 7-4 on the season and 2-2 in Skyline Conference action while St. Joseph's (L.I.) improved to 6-5 and 3-2, respectively. 
Corissa Stack scored four of St. Joseph's (L.I.) first seven points in the extra frame as part of a 7-0 run with 2:02 remaining. Daniella Santos knocked down a jumper with 1:41 remaining followed by a Krystina Agard field goal to bring the Panthers within three with 24 seconds left. Carissa Pirotta connected on 4-of-4 free throws down the stretch to steal the victory as Old Westbury launched a pair of three pointers that rimmed out over the final eight seconds. 
Old Westbury fell behind by as many as 11 points at the 16:21 mark in the second half and responded with a 26-14 run to take their first lead of the game, 55-54 with 3:19 left. Trish McMahon hot the front end of pair of free throws to knot the game at 55-55. Brittany Jones hit a jumper with 2:01 to give Old Westbury a 57-55 advantage. Old Westbury missed all three attempts from the field down the stretch as Dana Carney sank 2-of-4 from the line, forcing overtime.    
St. Joseph's (L.I.) hit the first basketball of the game and set the tone by jumping out to an 11-0 lead with 14:20 remaining in the first half. St. Joseph's (L.I.) extended their lead to as much as 17 off a three pointer by Trish McMahon with 9:42 left. Krystina Agard sank a three pointer to help Old Westbury outscore the Golden Eagles 19-11 over the final 9:19, heading into halftime with a 33-24 deficit. 
Three players scored in double figures for Old Westbury, led by Krystina Agard, who scored 22 points.   Agard finished with five blocked shots, five rebounds and four steals while Brittany Jones followed with 13 points and eight rebounds. Daniella Santos recorded a double-double, combining 10 points and 11 rebounds (six offensive) to go along with four steals. Carlie Moore contributed eight points nad six rebounds off the bench. 
Dana Carney led the way for St. Joseph's (L.I.) posting a monster double-double with 21 points and 22 rebounds. Carney hit 4-of-8 from the field and 13-of-19 from the line to go with three steals in 42 minutes of action. Trish McMahom had 15 points and Corissa Stack chipped in with nine points, three steals and two blocked shots. Nicole Redding pulled down 13 rebounds. 
Old Westbury shot 27.6 percent (24-of87) from the field, including 4-of-19 from three three-point line, and 52.9 percent (9-of-17) from the free throw line. The Golden Eagles also struggled in the shooting column, hitting 27.4 percent (17-of-62) including 4-of-15 from beyond the arc (26.7%). The team also struggled from the free throw line, missing 19, to finish at 61.2 percent. The Panthers were outrebounded for just the third time this season as St. Joseph's (L.I.) enjoyed a 72-51 advantage, including a 22-19 margin off the offensive glass. Old Westbury turned 22 Golden Eagle turnovers into 25 points while St. Joseph's were able to scored nine points off 15 Panther miscues.
