(www.oldwestburypanthers.com) – – The SUNY College at Old Westbury men's basketball fell behind by 13 points at halftime to the visiting Mount Saint Mary Knights and were defeated 77-63 Saturday at home in conference action. Old Westbury slipped to 7-10 on the season and 6-6 against the Skyline Conference while MSM climbed to 13-5 overall and 11-2 in conference play.

Mount Saint Mary jumped out to an early 10-6 lead when Old Westbury responded with a 7-0 run fueled by Lester Prosper's five points to take a 13-10 lead with 13:13 left on the first half clock. The lead would be OW's only of the game as MSM went on a 24-9 run from 13:02 to 1:04 to take a 37-24 advantage at halftime.

In the second half, MSM outscored OW 40-39 en route to a 77-63 victory. After trailing by as many as 15 in the first half, OW went on a 24-14 run from 13:42 to 4:49 to close within three points (64-61). Mount Saint Mary countered with a 13-2 run to close out the game.

Lester Prosper notched his 14th double-double of the season, finishing with 29 points on 13-of-20 shooting and 13 rebounds. He also recorded one blocked shot to extended his swat streak to 17. Tymel Ambrose dished out 11 assists and Frantz Granjean and Matthew Duffy scored in double-figures, totaling 13 and 11 points, respectively.

Five Knights finished in double-digits to lead Mount Saint Mary. Lenny Ragaglia score a team best 15 points while Donte Howell (12 points), Joe Stabach (12 points), Chris Pisciotta (11 points) and Kevin Milella (10 points) joined him in double-figures. Carlos Valdez pulled down a team best 10 rebounds.
Mount Saint Mary outshot Old Westbury 46.2 percent (24-52) to 39.4 percent (28-71) while winning the boards battle over the Panthers, 36-31.

YESHIVA MACCABEES UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury returns to the court on Tuesday (Feb. 3), taking on Yeshiva Maccabees in a Skyline Conference battle on the road. Game time is set to tip at 8 p.m. in New York, New York.
