OLD WESTBURY, NY
(www.oldwestburypanthers.com) – The SUNY College at Old Westbury outscored the Sage Gators 58-32 in the second half en route to a 100-75 Skyline Conference victory Saturday afternoon at the Clark Athletic Center. OW snapped a five game losing streak and improved to 3-8 on the season and 2-4 in conference play while Sage fell to 5-7 and 3-5, respectively.

OW led by as many as two points in the first half with an early 7-5 lead a the 17:04 mark. Sage responded with an 8-0 run to take a six point lead (13-7) at the 14:30 mark. Sage would like for the remainder of the half and took a 43-42 lead in the locker room.

The Panthers used a 22-5 run to start the second half to take a commanding 16 point lead (64-48) with 11:12 remaining in the game. OW's lead ballooned to 27 points (100-73) with 43 second left before Sage's Derick Faragon knocked down a jumper for a 100-75 final.

OW's Jamal Little poured in a career-high 30 points on 11-of-23 shooting from the field including six triples to go along with five rebounds and four assists in 40 minutes of action. Scott Arias followed with a career-best 24 points off the bench and connected on five treys. Tymel Ambrose had a solid all-around game, finishing with 10 assists, eight rebounds and two steals. Lester Prosper contributed 15 points (5-8), eight rebounds and four blocked shots in 21 minutes of court time while Andre Martin added 11 points. Frantz Granjean chipped in with eight points and eight rebounds.

Derek Faragon led the way for Sage with 24 points on 10-of-20 shooting. Matt Farbotko and Ryan Sager each had 14 points while Sager ripped down 10 boards.

The Panthers outshot Sage 55.9 percent (38-68 FG)-to-50 percent (26-52 FG) from the field and 47.8 percent (11-23 3FG)-to-45.5 percent (5-11 3FG) from beyond the arc. OW knocked down 13-of-15 from the line (86.7%) while Sage hit 18-of-27 (66.7%). Old Westbury out-rebounded the Gators 36-26, including a 11-7advantage off the offensive glass. OW forced Sage into 16 turnovers, resulting in 22 points for the Panthers.

NYU-POLY FIGHTING BLUE JAYS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury returns to the court on Tuesday (Saturday (Jan. 11), taking on the NYU-Poly Fighting Blue Jays in a Skyline Conference battle in Old Westbury, New York. Game time is set to tip at 7 p.m. from the Clark Athletic Center.
