@OW_Panthers Softball set for sixth straight ECAC Championship Tournament

No. 8 Old Westbury travels to No. 1 Richard Stockton on Wednesday at 4 p.m.

CENTERVILLE, MA (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) - The SUNY College at Old Westbury softball team (19-17) will travel to the Richard Stockton Ospreys (30-11) Wednesday at 4 p.m. from Pomona, New Jersey in the opening round of the ECAC Metro Region Championship Tournament.  ECAC officials announced Monday the Championship field for the upcoming tournament with the the eighth-seeded Panthers taking on the top-seeded Osphreys in the opening round. 

Wednesday's opening round also features No. 7 Brooklyn (23-17) hosting No. 2 Elmira (24-13), No. 6 Sage (20-18) traveling to No. 3 Rutgers-Camden (21-18) and No. 4 Farleigh Dickinson University-Florham (20-19) hitting the road to take on No. 5 Mount Saint Mary (18-16).

Saturday's double elimination semifinal round will be hosted by the highest remaining seed.

Old Westbury earns their sixth straight ECAC tournament berth.  Old Westbury's historic 2012 season ended in the semifinal round of the ECAC Metro Region Championship Tournament.
