@OW_Panthers Women’s Volleyball closes out road schedule at Maritime

Old Westbury returns home Saturday (Nov. 1) for a season finale tri-match against Mount Saint Vincent and Mount Saint Mary


THROGGS NECK, NY (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) - The SUNY College at Old Westbury women's volleyball team wrapped up its road schedule Thursday evening when they traveled to Throggs Neck, New York and dropped a three-set (25-7, 25-7, 25-6) Skyline Conference match to the Maritime Privateers.  The loss moved Old Westbury (2-18) to 2-5 in conference play while Maritime (11-13) improved to 4-5.

Edania Martinez led Old Westbury with six digs and one service ace while Sara Bey followed by scooping up five digs.  Emily Winberry and Olivia O'Keefe each added one service ace.  Winberry dished out two assists as Bey and O'Keefe each nailed down one kill. 

Shannon Brady paced Maritime with 16 kills in 24 total attacks while serving up seven aces.  Christine McCormack contributed 19 assists and seven service aces and Gabrielle Kempski chipped in with six aces.

The Panthers hit -.308 on the night as Maritime hit at a .414 clip.  Old Westbury outdug Maritime 17-14 as the Privateers served up 25 aces to Old Westbury's three. 

SKYLINE CONFERENCE TRI-MATCH UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury closes out the season at home Saturday (Nov. 1) with a Skyline Conference tri-match against the Mount Saint Vincent Dolphins (10 a.m.) and Mount Saint Mary Knights (2 p.m.) from Clark Athletic Center.  Mount Saint Vincent and Mount Saint Mary will square off at 12 p.m.
