@OW_Panthers Women’s Basketball takes time out to mentor students at Countryside Montessori School

Eight members of the women’s basketball program spent May 9 giving back to the community

OLD WESTBURY, NY---(www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury's women's basketball team took time out and spent May 9 with students at the Countryside Montessori School in Great Neck, New York. Old Westbury head women's basketball coach Michael Krasnoff, and assistant coach Lynda Day, along with Old Westbury women's basketball players Nikki Alexander, Clarissa Gallagher, Olivia Ilardi, Kendra Jordan, Raven Pentz and Jasmine Robinson all read books to children ages 18 months to six years old, and helped supervise playground activities.

"We enjoyed giving back as it was a very fulfilling and rewarding experience," said Krasnoff.

Old Westbury also helped restore the playground equipment and toys that will be used during the school's summer session.

Old Westbury's community service was so well received by the Countryside Montessori School that, as a result, they would like to continue this event on an annual basis.
