FARMINGDALE, NY ---
(www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury men's basketball erased a late second-half deficit to force overtime where they came away with Tuesday's 77-73 Skyline Conference road win over the Farmingdale State Rams inside Walter A. Lynch Sports Center.  Winners of five straight, Old Westbury (11-6) improves to 10-2 atop the conference standings while sending the Rams (8-10) to 8-5 in league play.

Farmingdale State held a three-point lead over the course of the opening 9:44 of play until Lylle Ryals connected on a three pointer to make it a 16-13 game for Old Westbury's first lead of the game.  George Riefenstahl's layup with 9:15 left sparked a 10-0 Ram run to put the hosts up by seven (23-16).  Jamail Stanley answered for the Panthers by scoring eight of their next 16 points as part of a 16-5 spurt to close out the final 6:42 to take a 32-28 lead into the half.

Old Westbury quickly extended its lead to seven points (37-30) off Stephon Odle's three pointer at the 18:31 mark.  The Rams took back the lead with a 9-0 run to create a 41-37 advantage with 14:26 remaining.  Old Westbury clawed back to tie the game on three separate occasions from 12:08 to 9:40.  With the game tied at 46, Farmingdale State used a 10-2 spurt to extend its lead to eight points.  Down 58-50, Stanley netted Old Westbury's next six points to make it a three-point game with 2:19 showing on the second-half clock.  Following a made free throw by the Rams, Odle landed a three ball with 1:43 remaining to trim the deficit to one (60-59).  Just under one minute later, P.J. Page sank a jumper to tie the game at 61 for Old Westbury.  Irvine Weldon committed a costly offensive foul for the Rams that gave Old Westbury the final possession in regulation.  With one second left, Ryals was unable to connect on the game-winning shot from long distance as the Panthers would enter their third overtime game of the season.

Old Westbury improved to 2-1 on the season in overtime play by outscoring the Rams 16-12 in the extra set.  Stanley netted seven of his game-high 23 points in overtime, including a three pointer with 2:37 left to give the Panthers the lead for good (66-64).  With 25 seconds remaining, Ryals sank a pair of free throws to put the game away by extending Old Westbury's cushion to a game-high nine points (75-66)

Stanley finished with 12 rebounds, four assists, three steals and two blocks to record his seventh double-double of the season.  Odle followed with a career-high 17 points (6-of-12 FG, 4-of-7 3FG) to go with six rebounds.  Page contributed 12 points, three steals and two blocks while Ryals added 10 points off the bench.
