PURCHASE, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury women's lacrosse (4-9, 2-2 Skyline) fell victim to a late rally on the road Wednesday evening as the Purchase Panthers (8-1, 4-0 Skyline) notched a 17-14 Skyline Conference win.

Halle Johnson netted back-to-back goals to open the scoring for Old Westbury's early 2-0 lead. Purchase answered with a pair of goals to tie the game before Natasha Treuman scored twice during a 3-1 Old Westbury run to grab a 5-2 lead with 20:06 remaining. Treuman's second goal at 26:24 broke Sara Bey's single-season freshman record of 38 goals set in 2014. Emma Porter's goal at 13:20 ignited a 6-2 Purchase run to give the hosts a 9-7 advantage with 8:11 left in the half. Bey scored at 6:49 and Treuman followed at 5:56 to tie the game (9-9) while setting a single-season program record set in 2015 by Courtney Gallagher with her 41st goal of the season. Zoe Hines closed out the first-half scoring with 3:18 left to send Purchase into intermission with a 10-9 lead.

Old Westbury scored three of the second half's opening five goals to grab hold of a 13-12 lead with 21:18 left. Purchase took back a 14-13 lead with goals from Porter and Nathalie Lavelanet, followed by Hine's game-winning goal at 11:14 as part of a 5-0 run. Bey settled the scoring with 2:15 remaining for her second goal of the game.

Johnson posted her fifth-career hat trick with three goals on the day. Danielle Weir chipped in with two goals, one assist and five draw controls while Treuman, Bey, Gallagher and Taylor Guarneri also collected assists. Gallagher became the first player in program history to record 100 caused turnovers after finishing with three on the day. Ashley Gugliuzzo (4-9) made six saves in defeat for Old Westbury.

Cynthia Plackis (8-1) stopped seven shots to earn Purchase's win. Potter finished with five goals as Kelly Turtell led the way with two goals and six assists.

SENIOR DAY VERSUS THE MARITIME PRIVATEERS UP NEXT FOR OLD WESTBURY: Old Westbury returns home for Senior Day Saturday (Apr. 23) versus the Maritime Privateers at 11:30 a.m. from Panther Park.
