OLD WESTBURY, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury softball collected 3-1 and 9-7 Skyline Conference home wins Friday against the Sarah Lawrence Gryphons at Jackie Robinson Athletic Complex.

Softball Game 1: Old Westbury 3, Sarah Lawrence 1
Sarah Lawrence jumped in front early with Olivia Henry's (2-for-4) RBI single off Panther starter Amanda Fucci (5-9, 7 IP, 7 H, R, 3 BB, 1 K) for the 1-0 lead.

Samantha Scharff (2-for-3, R) singled to lead off Old Westbury's sixth for her seventh multi-hit game of the season. The Panthers broke through two batters later with Krysta Flareau's game-tying RBI single off Gryphons starter Mikayla Cunningham (3-13, 6 IP, 9 H, 3 R, 0 BB, 4 K). Two batters later, Flareau scored the game-winning run on Gabriella Valdes' two-run double to settle the 3-1 final.

Game 2: Old Westbury 9, Sarah Lawrence 7
Taryn Penna opened game two with a double and scored on a sacrifice bunt by Reily Vuyovich for Sarah Lawrence's first inning lead on Fucci (6-9. 6.2 IP, 8 H, 7 R, BB, 2 K).

Fucci (2-for-4, 2 RBI, R) tied the game in the first with a RBI double followed by Scharff's run-scoring sacrifice fly for a 2-1 lead.

Fucci slapped her second RBI double of the game during Old Westbury's four-run third to take hold of a 6-1 game.

Old Westbury took a 9-3 lead in the fifth off Brittany Chernoff's two-run homer and Valdes' (2-for-4, R) RBI single.

Sarah Lawrence battled to trim the deficit to two with four runs scored off Fucci in the seventh before Nicole DeCola recorded the final out for her second-career save.

NYU UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury returns to the road Saturday (Apr. 23) for a non-conference doubleheader against NYU. First pitch is slated for 4 p.m. from Bahoshy Field in Bronx.
