@OW_Panthers Women’s Lacrosse volunteers at Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes for third-straight year

WANTAGH, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury women's lacrosse continued with their strong tradition of community service on September 25 when the team volunteered for the third-straight year at the Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes event that took place at Jones Beach State Park.

"We are proud to be involved with the American Diabetes Association (ADA) as representatives of SUNY Old Westbury," said SUNY Old Westbury head women's lacrosse coach Lauren. "Participating in this event annually is special for our program. Our student-athletes continue to do a fantastic job getting involved off the lacrosse field by giving back to the community at events like Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes."

Members of the women's lacrosse program helped the event organizers distribute t-shirts and greet participants arriving at the walk. The program then completed the 5k course with the 800-plus participants that came together to fight diabetes to raise over $220,000 for the ADA.

Schneider, along with Old Westbury women's lacrosse student-athletes LaChaye Allen, Imani Blake, Taylor Guarneri, Ashley Gugliuzzo, Halle Johnson, Rachel Phillips and Danielle Weir participated in the event. Schneider's children, Bodhi and Danny, and sister, Allison Cohen also showed support by joining forces with the Panthers.
