@OW_Panthers Men’s Soccer draws with Lehman in fourth-straight overtime contest

Old Westbury remains at home Thursday (Oct. 12) for a non-conference matchup versus Hunter College

OLD WESTBURY, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury men's soccer continued their four-game homestand Tuesday with a 1-1 draw in double overtime to the Lehman College Lightning (9-3-1) in non-conference action inside Panther Park.  Old Westbury (5-3-3) played in its fourth-straight overtime contest and sixth of the season.  

Seaton Cole gathered a loose ball that deflected off a defender in the box to give Old Westbury a 1-0 lead 6:40 in for his first goal of the season.  Old Westbury took its 1-0 lead into intermission due in part to the defensive effort that held Lehman without a first-half shot.

Lehman broke into the shot column in the 53rd minute with Eduardo Victorio scoring on Panther goalie Mike Warren (5-3-3) off a feed from Nabi Ben Bangoura for the equalizer.  The Lightning attempted four shots on goal to test Warren in the second period.

Both teams put up one shot in the first overtime before Lehman took four more in the second overtime.

In the end, Lehman held the advantage in shots (17-8), shots on goal (6-1) and corner kicks (7-3).

Warren made five saves while Chris Mullholland (9-3-1) did not register a save in a complete-game effort for Lehman.

HUNTER COLLEGE HAWKS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury continues its four-game homestand Thursday (Oct. 12) with a non-conference showdown versus the Hunter College Hawks (3-10-1) at 4 p.m. from Panther Park.
