OLD WESTBURY, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury men's soccer helped raise awareness on October 7 for the Go4theGoal® Foundation during their 2-1 double overtime Skyline Conference home win against Mount Saint Mary College.

Old Westbury took part in the Lace up 4 Pediatric Cancer® by wearing Go4theGoal's gold laces.  The gold laces are part of an initiative by Go4theGoal®, an organization dedicated to helping children with cancer to achieve their goals.  Lace Up 4 Pediatric Cancer® was created in 2011 in New Jersey, with teams all across the country participating at various levels, including all across NCAA divisions.

"It was a rewarding experience for our team to support this meaningful cause and the fight against pediatric cancer," said SUNY Old Westbury head men's soccer coach Patrick Corvetti.  "We were honored to create awareness by lacing up in gold to support Go4theGoal®."

$4 from every pair of $5 laces plus 100 percent of donations go back to helping local children with cancer and their families in the state the funds are raised.  Among those programs are financial assistance for families dealing with pediatric cancer, as well as grants for hospitals for "unique programs and events that improve patient experience and give kids something to look forward to."

Go4theGoal® also helps provide finances for renovations to hospitals to make them more welcoming, comforting, and interactive for families of pediatric cancer patients, in addition to granting wishes for children battling cancer.
