@OW_Panthers Men’s Soccer concludes homestand with Maritime battle

Old Westbury continues Skyline Conference play Tuesday (Oct. 17) versus Sarah Lawrence College at Farmingdale State College

OLD WESTBURY, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury men's soccer fell victim to a late goal Saturday afternoon to fall 1-0 at home to the SUNY Maritime Privateers (11-3-1, 5-2-0 Skyline) in Skyline Conference action from Panther Park.

The opportunities were there in the first half, but solid goalkeeping sent a scoreless tie into intermission. Old Westbury put up eight shots compared to Maritime's six while the Privateers held a 3-2 edge in shots on goal in the stanza. Dominick Guidice led Old Westbury's charge with four shots (one of goal) in the opening period.  
Parker Gallt's header with 12 minutes remaining decided the final after he completed a throw-in from Justin Forrest to score on Panther goalie Mike Warren (6-4-3).

Warren finished with four saves while Michael Rodriguez (11-3-1) stopped three shots to secure Maritime's win.

In the end, Old Westbury held the advantage in shots (13-9) and corner kicks (4-3) as Maritime claimed a 5-3 edge in shots on goal.

SARAH LAWRENCE COLLEGE GRYPHONS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury continues Skyline Conference play Tuesday (Oct. 17) against the Sarah Lawrence College Gryphons at 6 p.m. from the Farmingdale State College campus in Farmingdale, New York.
