HICKSVILLE, N.Y. --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) For the 10th-straight year, SUNY Old Westbury baseball volunteered their time at the Special Olympics Long Island Fall Classic September 21 at Cantiague Park in Hicksville, New York.

"It is a very rewarding day for all our players and our coaches, it is our favorite days of the year" commented head baseball coach Rod Stephan.

Stephan, along with assistant coaches Patrick Shortt and Joe Povinelli, and Old Westbury's baseball student-athletes Mike Abagnale, William Amendola, Joseph Barrella, Jason Barry, Joseph Bekios, Michael Borsch, Peter Capel, Aaron Castillo, Jonathan Dastagirzada, Matt Daulton, Charles Eisele, Oscar Fajardo, Eddie Guzman, Alex Hajko, Mike Homan, Shaun Kaminski, Nic Labiento, Lou LaRocco, Mike Manetta, Joseph Natale, Brandon O'Brien, Sean Paprocki, Patrick Quinn, Rohan Raju, Jamal Ritter, Drew Robertson, Joe Sarni, Patrick Schriffen, Devin Singh, Nick Vitale, Jacob Taormina, Steven Tellerias, Vinny Trovato and Brandon Wilson enjoyed positive interactions with Special Olympics New York's dedicated and enthusiastic throng of athletes, coaches, volunteers and fans.

The student-athletes were responsible for helping set up and break down and run operations for golf, soccer and softball events, keep score during competitions, stage athletes as well as assisting with the opening and closing ceremonies.

Hundreds of athletes participated in the 2019 Fall Classic competing in the five above mentioned sports as well as various skills competitions.
