FARMINGDALE, NY -Â The SUNY Old Westbury men's basketball team made the short road trip to take on Farmingdale State College on Saturday. The Panthers were defeated by the Rams by a final score of 82-51.Â

The Panthers could not handle the pressures of both Farmingdale's offense and defense. The game started off with the Rams scoring the first eight points unanswered. The Panthers would score their first points near the 16-minute mark courtesy of a
Jamari Williams three-pointer. The Panthers then inched their way closer as the half rolled on, pulling themselves to within three points at the midway point of the half.Â

As the rest of the first half moved on, the Panthers would fall behind, as the Rams went on a scoring run, growing their lead to 17 points, going into the break. The Rams went into halftime ahead by a score of 36-19.Â

The Panthers struggled to shoot the ball in the first half, as the team shot 22 percent from field goal range, 23 percent from behind the arc, and 33 percent from the free throw line.Â

The second half would be more of the same, as the Rams piled on the points. Farmingdale came out of halftime hot and scored five straight points. After several more missed shot attempts and mishaps on the Panthers' behalf, the Rams found themselves with their largest lead of the night of 36 points with four minutes to go in the game.Â

As time moved on and the game came to a close, the Panthers managed to close the gap to 31 points and the Rams took the game by a final score of 82-51.Â

Despite the team's struggles, several Panthers had nice games individually. Â
Amadi Lee-Kane led OW in scoring once again. Lee-Kane ended the night with 10 points, and three points.Â
Â
Jordan Johnson-Rader led the team in rebounding with 11 boards. He also recorded three points, and two steals.

As for Farmingdale, their leading scorer was Macai John. He scored 18 points and had seven rebounds, one assist and a steal. Michael Notias was the Rams leading rebounder who tied Johnson-Rader with 11 boards. The Rams' bench played a crucial role in their victory as the bench provided 39 points.Â

The Panthers ended the night with a shooting percentage of 25 percent and cashed in on just six of 25 three-point attempts.

The Panthers will look ahead as they shift focus and prepare to take on the Bard College Raptors at home on Tuesday, December 12. The game, in the Clark Center Gymnasium, will begin at 7pm.Â
