The Old Westbury baseball team dropped the 2023 season opener at Kean on Friday afternoon.
How it HappenedÂ
- Old Westbury got on the board with one run in the top of the first inning. Jacob Taormina walked and John Dell'Olio was hit by a pitch to put two runners on. Taormina advanced to third on a throwing error as the result of a failed pickoff. Oscar Fajardo hit a ground ball to third base to score Taormina.
- Kean answered back with four runs in the bottom of the first inning, off of Old Westbury's Justin Aviles. Aviles struck out three in the inning, but five hits and four errors allowed four runs to score, two unearned.
