Women’s Soccer Defeated by Mount Saint Vincent on Tuesday

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. – The SUNY Old Westbury women's soccer team was taken down by the Dolphins of the University of Mount Saint Vincent on Tuesday by a final score of 6-0. 
 
The Panthers move to 5-7-2 overall on the season and possess a conference record of 3-3. 
 
Mount Saint Vincent would score their first goal of the game by way of a penalty kick just under 14 minutes into the game thanks to Arianna Morales. 
 
The Dolphins would score two more times in the first half as Jasmine Hewitt and Grace Kennedy connected on goals. 
 
The Dolphins controlled the lead at halftime by a score of 3-0. 
 
In the second half, the UMSV offense continued to pounce as they scored three more goals. Two of the Dolphin's goals came thanks to Ima Kellerman. The final UMSV goal was scored by Emily Legler. 
 
The Panthers could not respond and ultimately fell to the Dolphins by a final score of 6-0. 
 
Alana Wallace, Scarlett Espinosa, and Stefany Donnelly each took an on-target shot for the Panthers. That said, the team only got off a total of six total shot attempts. 
 
Kristen Gallagher had an impressive game in net for the Panthers despite the loss. Gallagher faced a total of 27 shots on goal and finished with 21 saves. 
 
The Dolphins took a total of 36 shots throughout the game compared to OW's six. 
 
Next up, the Panthers will continue conference play as they are set to play host to the Golden Eagles of St. Joseph's-Long Island on Saturday, October 12 at 11 AM. The action will take place at Panther Park on SUNY Old Westbury's campus.
