OLD WESTBURY, N.Y.  -  The SUNY Old Westbury women's basketball team was defeated by the Knights of Mount Saint Mary College on Saturday by a final score of 73-39.

The Panthers struggled to get things going on either side of the ball as the game moved on. One area where OW was challenged was in their number of turnovers.

The game got going with Mount Saint Mary nailing a three-pointer just about a minute into play to open the scoring. From there, the Knights piled on the points as they scored on the following two possessions.

Tyela Davidson hit the Panthers first points of the night four minutes into the game as she hit a jumper in the paint. With four minutes left to go in the first quarter, the Knights secured a double-digit lead, ahead by 11 points after Ashley Sadowski hit a big shot from three-point range.

As the quarter moved on, the Panthers failed to mount any points. The Knights entered the second quarter ahead by 15 points, 25-11.

The Panthers only scored two points after that and entered halftime trailing by 24 points. The score at the half was 41-17.

The second half featured much of the same for both sides as the Knights piled on the points and the Panthers struggled to find their grove on offense. The third quarter was the Panthers weakest scoring quarter of the game as the team only managed to put up 13 points.

Going into the fourth quarter, the Knights led by 22 points. Davidson had a strong fourth quarter as she connected on a three-pointer as well as a layup in the paint. In the end, the Knights outplayed the Panthers in this one. Mount Saint Mary defeated Old Westbury by a final score of 73-39.
