Baseball Picks Up Two More Wins in Doubleheader Against Lehman on Sunday

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. – The SUNY Old Westbury baseball team continues to dominate as they defeated Lehman College in both games of Saturday's doubleheader, 21-7 and 11-2. 
 
Game One- SUNY Old Westbury (21)- Lehman College (7)
 
Coming off two big wins against Yeshiva on Friday, the Panthers offense continued its powerful surge. Several Panthers had multi-hit days and big-time performances. Leading the charge was left fielder, Mike Petrucelly who hit for the cycle featuring a single, double, triple, and homerun. He finished the first game with four hits, three runs, and six RBIs. 
 
Jamie Barrios was another big-time performer in the early game. Barrios recorded three hits, two runs, and an RBI. One of Barrios' hits was a double to left center field. The starting short stop, Brian McCloskey also had a three-hit day. McCloskey finished with two runs, one RBI and two doubles. He also had a stolen base.
 
On the mound, Louis Pizzileo picked up the win. He pitched for four innings and allowed five hits, four runs and three walks. Pizzileo struck out eight batters. In relief, Joe Morreale notched his first save of the season as he pitched three strong innings. Morreale allowed five hits, three runs and two walks. He recorded two strikeouts. 
 
Game Two- SUNY Old Westbury (11)- Lehman College (2)
 
The Panthers continued to dominate on both sides of the ball. 
 
Offensively, Mike Petrucelly had another massive game. Petrucelly finished with another homerun. He finished with another homerun, two hits, one RBI, and two runs. James Sill, who appeared for the first time this season in today's doubleheader sent one over the fence for a homerun, notching three RBIs. 
 
Mateo Martinez picked up another two hits in four at-bats. He scored two runs and recorded an RBI. 
 
Michael Pokorny threw two strong innings to start. He allowed only one hit, and one walk. Pokorny struck out two batters. The winning pitcher was Justin Aramini who recorded three strikeouts and allowed just two hits.
 
Next up for the panthers will be a three-game series with Plattsburg State on Tuesday and Wednesday, March 20-21. The first game will be a nine-inning single game beginning at 2 PM followed by two seven inning games, the following day. All games will be played at home at the Jackie Robinson Athletic Complex.
