Game Recap: Men's Volleyball |

Men’s Volleyball Downed By St. Joseph’s-Brooklyn on Thursday Night

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. – The SUNY Old Westbury men's volleyball team was taken down by the Bears of St. Joseph's University-Brooklyn on Thursday night, 3-0. 
 
The Panthers were outplayed in nearly all of the night's three sets. 
 
In the first set, the Panthers managed to record five kills as a team. With that being said, they also notched seven errors as a group. The Panthers were outscored 25-15 in the match's opening set. The Panthers could not find their grove and get their ythem back. OW was defeated in the first set by a score of 25-15. 
 
The second match featured much more excitement. The two teams finished the match separated by just five points. The Panthers combined for nine kills. Despite their effots, the Bears managed to close out the set and go up 2-0. The final score of the second set was 25-20. 
 
In what would be the night's final set, the Panthers recorded their highest number of set kills. They also finished with one more kill than the Bears with 12. The Panthers put up a strong fight but fell short in the end. The Bears walked away with the set victory and won the match 3-0. 
 
Anthony Moyett led the team in kills with 10. Moyett also had 15 digs, and a block. Ashel Santos finished the match with five kills, two aces, an assist and 10 digs. Val Holmes amassed two blocks on the night. 
 
The Panthers will play their final home game of the year on Tuesday, April 2 against the University of Mount Saint Vincent. The match will begin at 6 PM in the Clark Center Gymnasium.
