Women’s Soccer Wins High Scoring Conference Battle Against Yeshiva on Tuesday

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. – The SUNY Old Westbury Women's Soccer team defeated the Maccabees of Yeshiva University by a final score of 12-0 on Tuesday afternoon. 
 
The Panthers opened up Skyline Conference play with this victory, moving their overall record to 3-3-1 and a conference record of 1-0.
 
The Panthers had control of the game early as Jocelyn Forseth scored the first of her four goals in the fifth minute. Old Westbury would continue to fire away scoring five goals in the first half on 18 shots.
 
The second half was a similar story as the Panthers as just seven minutes into the half Jocelyn Perez scored the first of two on the day. Old Westbury would close out the half strong scoring 5 goals in 10 minutes between the 63rd and 73rd minute.
 
Jennifer Pasquariello scored two shots throughout the game as a starting defender. 
 
Jocelyn Forseth and Eleni Petri had big days combining for seven goals on 14 shots. Both Forseth and Petri are now tied for the team lead in goals with six each on the season.
 
The Panthers took 34 shots, of which 23 were on target.
 
This marks the first time the Panthers scored over 12 goals in a single game since September 14, 2023 against York College.
 
Up next, the Panthers will face off in another Skyline Conference matchup on the road against the United States Merchant Marine Academy. Last season when the two teams faced off, the Panthers lost by a score of 6-0. Kick-off is set for 2 PM on Saturday September 21st.
