Women’s Volleyball Falls to Farmingdale on Thursday Night

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. – The SUNY Old Westbury women's volleyball team was defeated by the Rams of Farmingdale State College on Thursday night. The Rams took the match, 3-0.
 
Old Westbury falls to 2-6 overall on the campaign. The Panthers sit at 1-1 in Skyline Conference play.
 
In the first set, the Panthers managed to record only five kills and 23 total attacks compared to 14 kills by Farmingdale. Farmingdale would take an early lead and hold on to take the opening set, 25-12.
 
The Rams continued their momentum into the second set as they recorded 13 kills with just three total errors. The Panthers managed to put up just five kills and 19 total attacks. Despite a slow offensive attack, the Panthers would fall 25-9.
 
In what would be the final set, the Panthers fell 25-12 and saw just two kills and a total of five team errors.
 
The Rams swept the Panthers in three straight sets on Thursday night.
 
Stephanie Maser led the team in kills as she recorded four. Maser also led the team in digs with six. Paige Herbert recorded four kills, an ace an assist and six digs. Katia Gomez led the team in assists with seven.
 
Next up, the Panthers return to action, tomorrow, October 3. The Panthers will face off against non-conference opponent, York College, on the road. The match is set to begin at 6 PM.
