Baseball Sits at 1-2 at the Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach; Panthers to Face McDaniel on Wednesday

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 MYRTLE BEACH, SC – The SUNY Old Westbury baseball program continues their play at the Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The team sits at 1-2 in tournament play after taking down Western Connecticut State on Monday afternoon.
 
The Panthers now hold an overall record of 6-3 on the 2025 campaign.
 
Game One- SUNY Old Westbury (6) – Western Connecticut State (5)
Final Score: SUNY Old Westbury 6, Western Connecticut State 5
Winning Pitcher: RJ Azarieh (Old Westbury) – 2-0
Losing Pitcher: K. Firlings (Western Connecticut State) – 0-1

Game Highlights:
Western Connecticut State took an early lead, scoring in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd innings, pushing their advantage to 5-0.

Old Westbury battled back, with key runs coming in the 4th, 6th, and 7th innings, trimming the deficit.

In the 9th inning, Old Westbury completed their comeback with Donny Whalen doubling in two runs to secure the win, helping Old Westbury clinch a 6-5 victory.

The Panthers rallied late, overcoming a 5-0 deficit to win in a thrilling finish.

SUNY Old Westbury Panthers fell to Mount Aloysius College with a final score of 8-The game, rescheduled from March 16, saw the Panthers struggle offensively, scoring all their runs in the 8th inning.
 
Mount Aloysius, on the other hand, took an early lead with a 2-run homer in the 1st inning and added more runs across several innings.
 
James Reilly and Joe Morreale each had one RBI for Old Westbury. Mount Aloysius' J. Bailey earned the win, while Louis Pizzileo took the loss for Old Westbury.

Final Score: Hobart College 16, SUNY Old Westbury 13

The game featured strong pitching performances from Hobart's Johnny Hill, who earned the win, and Nicholas Franceschi, who earned the save.

This was a back-and-forth game, but Hobart College's timely scoring and pitching ultimately led them to victory.

Old Westbury is set to face off against McDaniel College later today at 6:30 PM to round out their week at the Ripken Experience.
