Men’s Volleyball Falls to Ramapo on Friday Night

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. – The SUNY Old Westbury men's volleyball team was defeated by the Roadrunners of Ramapo College on Friday night, 3-0.
 
The Panthers now fall to 4-9 on the season and hold a conference record of 2-5. 
 
The Panthers struggled in the opening set as they had five errors and just six kills. As a team, Old Westbury recorded just 28 attacks. The Roadrunners recorded 16 kills and had just four errors. The Roadrunners would go on to win the first set, 25-15. 
 
In the second set of the day, the Panthers struggled once again with only 22 attacks. Despite a push on the defensive side of things, the Panthers were unable to overcome the Ramapo attack. The Roadrunners had 18 kills and took the second set, 25-15. 
 
In what would be the final set of the day, the Panthers stayed in the fight until the end. The Panthers managed to improve their attack and closed the scoring gap. The final score of the set was 25-18 and Old Westbury had 12 kills. 
 
Torrence Fredericks led the team with seven kills and three blocks. Liam Eisel had seven kills and eight digs. Ashel Santos led the team in assists and had 17.
 
Next up, the Panthers will return to play on the road on Tuesday, March 11. The Panthers will face off against Purchase in Purchase, N.Y. at 7 PM.
