The SUNY Old Westbury men's volleyball team started the 2026 season off on the right foot with a 3-0 sweep of York College.
Juilius Morales led the offense with 13 kills, attacking at a .550 clip while adding four digs.
Lucas Rogers followed with seven kills at a .583 percentage while
Luke Vetack hit at .667.
Ashel Santos' 16 assists led the Panthers, adding four aces and five digs.
Kyle Singh-Gajadar led with eight service aces while
Kevin Alarcon had eight digs.
After an even exchange to start the match, three-straight points put the home Cardinals in the lead, 8-4. The Panthers responded with a run of the next nine points to take a dominant 13-8 lead en route to a 25-16 sets victory. In the run, Singh-Gajadar had three aces to go with kills from Rogers, Morales, and
Jason Giles.
The Panthers never trailed in either of the remaining two sets, despite the Cardinals working the score within one four times down the stretch of the third set before a kill from Vetack clinched the win for the visitors.
Old Westbury will remain on the road and will take on CCNY on Tuesday, February 3 at 7:00 PM.
