MEN'S SWIMMNG LOSES TO STATEN ISLAND

Results

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y.-The SUNY College at Old Westbury men's swimming team lost on the road, 88-70 to College of Staten Island on Wednesday evening.

The Panthers were led by sophomore Nicholous Perdomo (Hempstead, N.Y.), who won a pair of events.  Perdomo won the 100 freestyle (1:11.87) and 200 individual medley (3:15.43) as freshman Robert Rooney (Uniondale, N.Y.) captured first place in the 500 freestyle (11:48.15) to help Old Westbury sweep the freestyle events.  Junior John Rodgers (Hempstead, N.Y.) claimed first in the 50 breaststroke (39.21) while sophomore Ronald Ott (Garden City Park, N.Y.) touched first in the 200 backstroke (3:37.16). 

Robert Rooney, John Rodgers, Nicholous Perdomo and Ronald Ott teamed up to earn second place in the 200 medley relay in 2:54.20. 

The Green and Ivory will be back in the pool on Saturday, January 31st when they travel to Newburgh, New York for a double-dual meet with Mount Saint Mary College and College of Staten Island at 2:00 p.m.  Please visit www.oldwestburypanthers.com for more information on men's swimming or any of the other Panther athletic teams.
